When two travellers mistakenly exchange baggage on the Berlin U-Bahn during the 2006 World Cup, little do they know the effect it will have on their lives. Eyal, an Israeli backpacker and Rana, a Paris-based Palestinian decide to bunk down together, and as the city celebrates Germany's victory in the world game, they realise their attraction. When Rana suddenly returns to Paris, Eyal begins a frantic search for this new love.Filmed in real-time against the backdrop of Germany's triumph at the World Cup and the 2006 Israel-Hezbollah War, Strangers is the tale of how fate can throw two lovers together and then pull them apart.
